Reopening of the Physics/Electrical Engineering Branch Library in NW1 Building

The Faculty of Physics/Electrical Engineering’s branch library is moving back to its old location. It had been relocated to the SuUB headquarters for several years as the rooms were needed for the Juridicum law library. The SuUB would like to thank the faculty for making the space available.

In just a few days, a moving company relocated the physics and electrical engineering book collections, which had been temporarily stored at the State and University Library headquarters, back to NW1 Building.

Just in time for the start of orientation week on October 6, the branch library will once again be open daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday. The approximately 36,000 volumes are displayed on the ground floor and on the mezzanine levels. The library's high-quality facilities and 80 modern study and work stations, the group study room, and the PC stations are now available to all students again.
The information desk is staffed during the library's opening hours, and the staff are available to provide assistance and advice on literature searches and all of the library's services.

The SuUB’s director, Maria Elisabeth Müller, would like to thank the Faculty of Physics/Electrical Engineering for their patience and is delighted that the branch library is once again an integral part of Faculty 01. “The provision of the physics and electrical engineering branch library for the Juridicum law library was actually only supposed to be for the short duration of the GW1 building renovation, in order to ensure that law students had access to the necessary literature.” But then things turned out differently: The relocation of the Juridicum law library took longer than expected because there were new plans for the Faculty of Law. The University of Bremen established a new city-center location, Forum am Domshof, into which the Faculty of Law moved after the renovation work was completed in early January 2025.
