In THE World University Ranking 2025, the top rankings are dominated by the USA and the UK. The USA is represented in the TOP 200 with 55 institutions, followed by the UK with 25 TOP 200 institutions. Germany ranks third with 20 institutions in the TOP 200.

Overall, the University of Bremen ranks 301-350 out of all participating institutions worldwide. Solely comparing the results among German universities, the University of Bremen thus achieves rank 33.

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds Ltd.) World University Ranking

For the QS Ranking 2026, over 1,500 institutions from 106 countries were ranked. In this ranking, 48 universities from Germany are represented. Of these, 26 institutions (54%) were able to improve their ranking compared to the previous year, while 17 (35%) lost ground, and 5 further institutions (10%) maintained their position.
