Within the context of the ERASMUS Program, teaching staff who are full members of the University of Bremen have the possibility to accept lectureships at any ERASMUS partner university. This expressly includes doctoral students working in an instructional capacity. A lectureship usually lasts for one or two weeks.

  • All persons who teach at the University of Bremen. These include:

Professors and lecturers, including adjunct lecturers, who have a contractual relationship with the University of Bremen.

    Research assistants.

Doctoral students who are involved in teaching are also expressly eligible for funding.

In addition, company representatives from other European countries may also be invited to teach at the University of Bremen. They can only be funded if they are not a member of a partner university.

Teaching assignments at Erasmus partner universities of the University of Bremen. According to the funding guidelines, the teaching stay can last between 2 and 60 days. Due to the financial resources of the program, 5 working days and, if necessary, 1 travel day are usually funded.

An Erasmus teaching assignment comprises at least 8 hours in the first week, even for shorter stays. For individual teaching days from the second week onwards, the minimum number of hours is calculated on a pro rata basis.

If teaching and continuing education are combined, the teaching load is reduced to 4 hours per week.

For budgetary reasons, a maximum of one staff mobility per year is currently funded.

An exception is staff mobility within the framework of our European university alliance YUFE. Due to the strategic focus within the framework of the YUFE Staff Journey, the limitation does not apply to YUFE staff mobilities.

If you would like to participate in a continuing education program abroad as a lecturer, please apply via staff mobility.

Please apply via our online database mobility online.

Applications may be submitted on a continuing basis.
