The advantages of YUFE

Everyone who studies with YUFE studies flexibly and european. It allows lasting memories to be made and encourges the individual development with it’s flexible programme.

YUFE can be used flexibly and without costs for your studies, thanks to european funding. Create your own personal Student Journey!

You can find and browse in the ?Virtual Campus“ where virtual and physical courses and activities are offerd by all ten YUFE universities. Choose your own workload and suitable courses for your studies – you decide what and how much you want to do. From multi-day BIP programs to an entire semester abroad, everything is possible. Since 2025 YUFE offers it’s own joint Bachelor program in cooperation with all YUFE universities. For students we offer:

  • OpenYUFE Programme
  • Academic courses (offered in OpenYUFE and minors) in English or in the local language, virtual and in person
  • Language courses (offered in OpenYUFE) and language cafés and tandems (offered in OpenYUFE and for students) for example: Spanish, Finnish, German, French…
  • Blended Intensive Programmes (BIPs)
  • Minors (semester abroad at our partneruniversities)
  • Working together withcompanies in Challenge Teams 
  • Civic Engagement Activities (offered in OpenYUFE and for students) to help local community projects
  • YUFE Academy Lectures (offered in OpenYUFE and students)
  • YUFE Bachelor ?Urban Sustainability Studies“

What options are there?

Open YUFE

OpenYUFE

OpenYUFE allows you to enrich your own degree by building your own European curriculum, choosing from over xxx courses and activities. For four semester you can study OpenYUFE courses, while continue studying your own academic degree. Earned Credit Points can be recognized by your faculty for your degree. Every enrolled student of the University of Bremen, who has a B2 English proficiency, can join the OpenYUFE programme. The application is possible year-around via the virtual campus.

YUFE Minor

YUFE Minors

Discover Europe with the YUFE Minors! Participate in 30 ECTS programs built around a specific topic or theme. Study abroad at one of our nine partner universities for example in Essex, Madrid or Paris. YUFE Minors are funded by Erasmus and offer next to in person courses at the guest university the possibility to attend online courses at the other YUFE universities. Applications are possible in September for the spring semester and in April for the fall semester. Please reach out to our team if you are interested.

YUFEs Joint Bachelor

Since begin of 2025 YUFE offers a joint Bachelor programme. The joint bachelor in Urban sustainability studies is offered by seven Degree Awarding Partners and three mobility partners. The Joint Bachelor is awarded by all seven partners and therefore a truly european degree. Over three academic years containing 180 ECTS can be completed at up to three different universities. You can create your own curriculum choosing from a variety of minors, to build the perfect degree. The University of Bremen offers the minor ?Natural Sciences for Sustainability“, which can be chosen as part of the Bachelor. Please keep in mind that the application windows of the universities differ and B2 English proficiency is needed. Feel free to reach out if you have questions.

BioYUFE

If you are a student in a biology or life sciences programme, you can enrich your degree with BioYUFE. With BioYUFE you can substitute courses from your home university with international ones. The courses offered can be virtually or physically and range from biodiversity to biomedicine. A BioYUFE application is possible if you are enrolled in a natural science degree and have a B2 English proficiency. A registration is possible via the virtual campus.
