Nominees from previous years have shown how differently the topic of sustainability can be dealt with in academic works. Among other aspects, they addressed the sustainable use of resources; the protection of the environment and nature, the climate, and the oceans; adaptation to climate change; technological solutions to the challenges of meeting the 1.5-degree target; the socio-ecological, economic, and legal conditions for a transformation towards sustainability; and new teaching models.

Master's theses and doctoral dissertations completed and assessed at the University of Bremen after August 31, 2023, are eligible for nomination for the 2025/26 CAMPUS AWARD. The deadline for submissions is November 18, 2025.

How can I submit a nomination?

The nomination form can be found on the campuspreis.de website under "Bewerben." The exact conditions of participation can also be found there.
The completed application form and the corresponding thesis must be submitted to applicationprotect me ?!campuspreisprotect me ?!.deand in copy (cc) to infoprotect me ?!stiftung-klima-umweltprotect me ?!.org by November 18, 2025 at the latest. A jury will select the award winners from the submitted nominations.

The CAMPUS AWARD

The University of Bremen, together with the KELLNER & STOLL FOUNDATION FOR CLIMATE AND THE ENVIRONMENT, the Leibniz Centre for Tropical Marine Research (ZMT), and the University of Bremen Alumni Network, launched the “CAMPUS AWARD: Research for a Sustainable Future” prize. It is endowed with a total of 3,000 euros and honors master’s degree and doctoral dissertations.
