We Welcome Sabrina Kombrink to the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science

Sabrina Kombrink has been a professor of analysis and its applications since the 2025 summer semester.

Her research interests combine the areas of analysis, geometry, and stochastics. Sabrina Kombrink works on fractal geometry, limit theorems for stochastic processes, image analysis of irregular structures with applications in medicine (especially cancer research) and chemistry (analysis of emission particles) for example, as well as inverse questions investigating how sound can be used to infer the nature of objects.

Sabrina Kombrink completed her doctorate at the University of Bremen; her dissertation won the 2012 Bremen Thesis Award. After postdoctoral positions at the University of Bremen, the University of Lübeck, and the Mittag-Leffler Institute (Sweden), she took up an interim professorship at the University of G?ttingen and then an assistant professorship at the University of Birmingham (UK). From there, she moved to the University of Bremen in April 2025.
