MMMIGS PhD Grants
With the MMMIGS PhD Grants, the Minds, Media, Machines Integrated Graduate School offers doctoral candidates the opportunity to apply for funding for research, training and networking activities. The prerequisite is that the planned activity must be directly related to the respective doctoral project. Doctoral candidates are eligible to apply if they are members of a doctoral program within the MMMIGS network or their doctorate is supervised by a member of the high-profile area Minds, Media, Machines.
Overview
Funding can be requested for research, training and networking activities that are directly related to the applicant's doctoral project. The expected benefits for the project, as well as potential positive impacts on the high-profile area Minds, Media, Machines, the integrated graduate school MMMIGS, and, if applicable, the applicant's doctoral program, must be outlined in the application (see guidelines).
Examples are provided in the list of fundable activities. In case of doubt or additional activities not listed, we recommend consulting the MMMIGS coordinator. Generally, only activities for which no alternative funding (e.g., from the working group or the doctoral program) is available can be funded. A statement on this must be included in the application (see guidelines).
Application Deadlines
Proposals can be submitted at any time, but we recommend contacting the MMMIGS coordinator early to confirm the eligibility of the planned activity and the availability of funding.
Final Report
A written report, including a brief summary and some images for publication on the MMMIGS website and social media channels, must be submitted no later than four weeks after the completion of the funded activity. If publications result from the funded activity, the funding from the Minds, Media, Machines Integrated Graduate School must be explicitly mentioned.
