Additional Voluntary Credits
Additional Voluntary Credits in Bachelor's studies
The Central Examination Office defines a additional voluntary work as ‘an examination performance that is not specified in the curriculum.’
This means that if you have achieved further credits in addition to the 180 credit points (CP) required for your Bachelor's degree and defined in the subject curriculum, these can be listed separately in the Transcript of Records as ‘additional voluntary credits’ under certain conditions.
There are basic regulations to approve 'additional voluntary credits':
- The performance must have been achieved at the University of Bremen.
- Exceptions: Examinations completed through study programmes/Erasmus, individual study plans or by free movers at other universities in the enrolled study programme.
Important Notice:
Perforcances ompleted at other universities outside the aforementioned options is not recognised as additional voluntary credit.
Performance means according to the General Part (AT) of the Examination Regulations (PO):
- an examination performance must be proven
- type of examination must be recognisable
- performance must have been achieved at the University of Bremen (exceptions see above)
- CP / ECTS must be disclosed
- Attendance performances/participation certificates are not additional voluntary credits within the meaning of the General Part (AT)
No CP details and no grades for the ‘additional voluntary credits’ are listed or shown in the certificate attachment.
