Delegation from Akdeniz University visits Prof Dr Karin Wolf-Ostermann at IPP

The Erasmus cooperation between the IPP's Department of Health Care Research and Akdeniz University will be further promoted and enriched by the visit of health care researchers on July, 2nd, 2025.

Dr Nilgün Aksoy and Dr Ayse Meydanlioglu from the Department of Surgical Nursing at the Faculty of Nursing Sciences at Akdeniz University visited the Department of Nursing Care Research at the Institute of Public Health and Nursing Research (IPP) under the direction of Prof Karin Wolf-Ostermann as part of the Erasmus programme.

During their stay, the guest researchers gained in-depth insights into the system of nursing training and the structures of the healthcare system in Germany. The nursing practice, training content, professional task profiles and fields of application of nursing in Turkey and Germany were discussed and reflected on from a comparative perspective. The professional exchange promoted mutual understanding and opened up new perspectives on possible objectives and approaches in research and their application in practice. Bu?se Yüceer, a research assistant in Prof Wolf-Ostermann's HEARAZ project, played a special role in this, as her expertise in national and international research enabled her to act as a special mediator.

One highlight was a visit to the Skill Lab at Bremen University of Applied Sciences, which plays a central role in practical nursing training. Insights into simulation-based teaching methods and student performance assessment concepts were exchanged. Practical partners within the TCALL project, that act as academic teaching care institutions, were also visited. This varied programme included a visit to the Johanniterhaus Bremen - an inpatient care facility for the elderly, which provided deeper insights into the organisation of long-term care and the role of nursing professionals in this care context. This visit created a valuable basis for the further development of academic relations between the two institutions and future interdisciplinary cooperation in the field of nursing.
