Global Health Department hosts Community Roundtable on “Storytelling in Science-Policy Transfer” at GLOHRA Day 2025

On June 6th 2025, members of GLOHRA discussed how scientific findings could be conveyed to policymakers and the public at the 'Storytelling in Science-Policy Transfer' community roundtable event in Berlin.

As part of the GLOHRA Day 2025, a community roundtable on 'Storytelling in Science-Policy Transfer' was held in Berlin on June 6th 2025. Moderated by Prof. Dr. Melanie B?ckmann (IPP) and Fabienne Pradella (JGU Mainz/HIGH Heidelberg), the event featured lively discussions about communication between science and policy, and ways to strengthen the GLOHRA community.

During the interactive 'Ask the Community' session, the focus was on conveying research findings to policymakers and making complex issues understandable to people outside inner academic circles. The discussion rounds provided an open framework for sharing the experiences of established researchers and novel approaches and tools of new generations. Attendees explored existing strategies, such as developing personas, creating storylines, and employing visualisation techniques. The event demonstrated the importance of cross-disciplinary collaboration in exploring new avenues in science-policy transfer, and of learning from the findings of other disciplines.
