Smart Servo
The SmartServo project aims to develop cost-effective control electronics, including sensors, microcontrollers and power electronics, which are installed directly in the bearing cover of the motor and enable precise position control. The core idea is to use only winding space fields to determine the rotor position and still realize precise, dynamic, field-oriented control.
As part of the project, we are developing a real-time analytical model for calculating the three-dimensional winding space fields of a synchronous motor. In addition to the analytical calculation, a tool chain for the numerical calculation of the synchronous machine is being developed, with which various geometries can be automatically set up, parameterized and calculated three-dimensionally and transiently in commercial FEM software.
