ZMML Workshop ‘Legal aspects of OER in teaching’ 27 June 2025 from 10:00 to 11:30 (Zoom)

Open Educational Resources (OER) are teaching and learning materials that are published for use under an open licence. In its OER policy, the University of Bremen recommends that lecturers create and use OER in their teaching.

When using OER, there are a number of legal requirements that must be observed by teachers. These relate in particular to copyright, licensing and personal rights legal issues. The use of AI-generated content raises additional legal aspects that need to be considered.

In this workshop, we would like to give you an overview of the legally compliant creation and use of OER.

Speaker: Prof. Dr Iris Kirchner-Freis, LL.M.Eur (Director of the Institute for IT, Media and Intellectual Property Law (MLS LEGAL)) and author of the copyright decision aid, which also deals with the topic of Open Educational Resources.
Moderation: Martina Salm (Media Didactics, ZMML)

Please register (under ZMML News) by 25 June at 14:00. The access data will be communicated by e-mail after the registration deadline.
The event is primarily aimed at lecturers from the University of Bremen and the universities in the state of Bremen, but lecturers from other federal states are also welcome!

Please note: The event will not be recorded.
