Technical Thermodynamics
The Engineering Thermodynamics group has been part of the Faculty of Production Engineering since its founding in 1982. In teaching, we provide the fundamentals of engineering thermodynamics and offer a wide range of courses in areas such as thermodynamics, heat transfer, thermal process engineering and related equipment, as well as in optical measurement methods and thermal energy systems. Our research focuses on studying complex fluids and the kinetics of phase transitions, as well as on evaporator technology and seawater desalination. To achieve this, we use both classical physico-chemical methods and cutting-edge laser-optical measurement techniques, along with experimental setups from lab to pilot scale and advanced simulation programs. This allows us to address both fundamental and applied research questions.
