Get Involved!

The purpose of the SeniorCitizens project is to organize events and serve as an international platform, providing an opportunity for exchange and networking. Our volunteer Senior Citizens are always happy to welcome international guests of the University of Bremen!

What the university offers:

• International environment with interesting encounters and contacts
• Access and invitations to intercultural & networking events organized by the university and its partners (e.g. Technologiepark e.V.)
• Financial grants/cost coverage for excursions (entrance fees etc.)
• Reimbursement of travel expenses (BSAG)
• Intercultural training
• Award of the “Campus International” prize in December 2014 (prize money and certificate for voluntary work)

What the SeniorCitizens contribute:

• A great deal of commitment, creativity & new ideas, support, experience, time, participation in personal networks to enrich an international campus.

Become a member:

• Introductory meeting
• Try out various events (e.g. Café International, city tours, museum visits....)
• Feedback meeting on acceptance into the group

This concept is a “win-win project” for the seniors, the international guests and the university!
