Project

Spiropyran (SP) is a switchable molecule that can be converted into merocyanine (MC) by various stimuli such as heat, light or mechanical force. In this project, a multiscale approach is pursued to simulate and understand these different types of isomerization in detail. Particular attention is paid to optimizing the optical and electronic properties of the material through mechanical deformation.
