Technical aspects
Interferometric technique delivering:
DPC: …. enables differentiation between materials with similar X-ray attenuation. It also shows reduced sensitivity to metal artifacts in CFRP components.
DFC: … detects microstructural scattering caused by pores, fibers, or cracks. It offers high sensitivity to delaminations and fiber orientation (x-Ray Tensor Tomography). The measurable volume extends up to 40 mm?.
Comparison with conventional CT: the determination of fiber orientation is restricted to a measurable volume of 2 mm?.
-
In-situ capabilitiesIn addition to standard tensile, compression, and bending tests, user-defined experimental setups can be implemented. This is facilitated by an open, Python-based control environment that allows for flexible and precise test configurations.
