Diginomics Winter Workshop 2025: third cohort meets for progress presentations and round-table discussion

On Wednesday, 10 December, the Diginomics Graduate Group held its annual Winter Workshop at the Forum am Domshof (Raum 60005) in Bremen. The event brought together doctoral researchers from the third cohort as well as senior researchers and supervisors for an afternoon of structured project updates and joint discussion.

In the first part of the programme, each member of the third cohort presented a brief status update on their dissertation and shared selected aspects of ongoing work. The presentations covered research motivation and framing, methodological approaches, preliminary results, and current challenges. Each talk was followed by a discussion and feedback session.

The second part of the workshop consisted of a round-table discussion on recurring topics relevant to doctoral research. Key themes included the ethical positioning of dissertations (including questions related to human–AI teaming and potential dual-use implications), qualitative data analysis, strategies for framing and finalising the dissertation, and preparation for the thesis defence.

The workshop provided a forum for exchange across projects and for receiving feedback in a supportive setting. The day concluded with informal conversations at the Bremen Christmas Market.
