German-Ukrainian Student Exchange in Bremen

From 26 October to 1 November, students from Chernivtsi University visited Bremen. Together with students from Bremen, they conducted research in the archive of the Research Centre for East European Studies, looking for traces of Ukrainian history in Germany and exchanging views on culture and everyday life during wartime. A highlight was the lecture by lecturer Dr. Oxana Matiychuk as part of the globale° literature festival. The programme also included excursions, such as a trip to the German Emigration Center in Bremerhaven and a visit to the Freimarkt.

The eight participants from Ukraine agreed with the eight Bremen students that the shared week was a gain for everyone. They hope for a reunion soon and for a continuation of the exchange in Chernivtsi.
