Research Assistant

Introduction

Carl Schütte has been working at the Chair of Small Business, Start-ups, and Entrepreneurship (LEMEX) since 2025. His research focuses on early-stage start-ups and entrepreneurial finance and fundraising, with a focus on the health and wellbeing sector.

A native of Bremen, he is the managing director and co-founder of Patient Learning Systems AG, based in Bremen, which has been developing evidence-based digital therapeutics (therapy apps) since 2023. He is responsible for clinical trials and regulatory approvals and drives the start-up's scaling strategy.

Previously, he completed a dual bachelor's degree and commercial training while working in the research and analytics function at McKinsey & Company. During his master's degree in management (major in business analytics) at the Nova School of Business & Economics in Lisbon, he was a business development associate at a German blockchain start-up.

In his work at LEMEX, he combines entrepreneurial practice with research and transfer – at the interface between theory and application.
