Backstory and basis for the new schedule of fees
The President's Office of the University of Bremen approved the draft of a new schedule of fees for the Language Center of the Universities in the Land of Bremen with Resolution No. 2548 on February 11, 2025. The new schedule of fees was published in the University of Bremen's Amtlichen Mitteilungsblatt Nr. 3/2025.
The reason for the revision was to create a transparent pricing structure that offers students at the four partner universities the same conditions for participating in our courses. It is important to emphasize that the regular course price has not increased but remains stable at the previous level (80 euros for a course comprising 2 SWS, or 30 teaching hours). Only the discount regulations with which two of the four universities had previously subsidized their courses have been abolished due to the standardization of prices.
As part of internationalization strategies and in order to promote integration into the labor market, it was agreed to reduce the price of German courses for our students to a quarter of the price of our other language courses as a special incentive, so that the desire to learn the language should not be discouraged by the price.
