Professor Dr. Sebastian Kolbe has been holder of the Chair of Civil Law and Labour Law at the University of Bremen since September 2016. Prior to this, he held temporary chairs at various German universities. Sebastian Kolbe studied in Passau and Munich, obtaining his doctorate (2009) and habilitation (2012) at Ludwig Maximilian University in Munich. His teaching qualifications cover civil law, labor law, and civil procedure law. His research focuses on collective labor law, in particular the law of workplace and corporate co-determination, as well as European labor law. In addition, he examines the effects of digitalization on working life from a legal perspective and conducts research in general civil law. He lectures at specialist conferences and training events, assesses civil and labor law issues, and heads conciliation committees.
