Trainings & Workshops
Enhance your data skills with our offers
Our team of data experts provides a diverse range of training sessions tailored for researchers across all disciplines. We offer both interdisciplinary and subject-specific programs designed to cater to various skill levels. Our trainings cover the entire data lifecycle, inclidung research data management, data science, data analysis, artificial intelligence, as well as ethical, legal, and social aspects of data science.
We also offer the opportunity to develop on-demand trainings for the faculties of the University of Bremen and our partner institutions in the Data Competence Center DataNord.
If you have specific needs or requests, feel free to contact us directly via E-Mail to discuss the possibilities.
Current workshops
Our workshops are open to all researchers from the University of Bremen and other Bremen-based research institutions.
The DSC offers engaging and hands-on workshops to strengthen data skills, with a focus on PhD students and postdocs. We warmly welcome students, colleagues from other status groups, and external participants if spots are available!

Bremen Early Career Researcher Development (BYRD)
BYRD is the support center for early-career researchers at the University of Bremen. BYRD is the central contact point for doctoral candidates, postdocs as well as established researchers seeking information and support for further training, networking, and consulting. More about BYRD
Data Train – Training in Research Data Management and Data Science
Data Train is a centralized training for doctoral candidates at member institutions of the U Bremen Research Alliance. The courses are allocated to tracks and build on one another. The "Starter Track" consists of interactive lectures giving an overview on topics in the fields of research data management and data science. In the two operator tracks "Data Steward" and "Data Scientist", students gain competences of a data steward and data scientist, respectively, and apply digital tools directly in hands-on workshops. Doctoral candidates can complete the entire track or take individual courses. More about Data Train
Research Data Management – Information and Support
Unit 12 – Research Services of the University of Bremen and the State and University Library Bremen provide information on research data management. They support and advise researchers in identifying suitable repositories, developing data management plans and all other relevant questions. The recommendations of the University of Bremen on handling research data can also be found on their website (only available in German). More about Research Data Management.
