Dr. Mariia Shkolnykova

Short Profile

Mariia Shkolnykova is a postdoctoral researcher in the working group of Prof. Dr. Jutta Günther (Chair of Economics of Innovation and Structural Change) at the University of Bremen. She studied Management at the Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg (M.Sc. 2016) and Management of Foreign Economic Activity in Donetsk National Technical University, Ukraine (M.Sc. 2015). In her dissertation, she engaged in investigating the technological trajectories of biotechnology in Germany, based on patent data, and is following its relation to the development of bioeconomy.

Her current scientific activities deal with the topics of emergence and diffusion of innovations. Furthermore, she deals with the role of radical innovations for the development of technology fields. Methodically, she applies empirical analysis with the help of statistical software (esp. Stata, R, Pajek).
