DSC Supports Linguistic Landscape Study at Japanese Universities

The study aims to assess multilingualism at two Japanese universities using the methodology of Linguistic Landscapes. The goal of the project is to reveal the subtle presence of minoritized languages in a largely monolingual society historically characterized by linguistic uniformity.

Between FAIR Data and Inclusion: DSC Brings Key Perspectives to 39C3

At the 39th Chaos Communication Congress, the DSC once again contributed perspectives from research data management (RDM) and data literacy to the tech community. DataNord data scientist Sarah Büker highlighted why RDM is not only a technical challenge, but also a social and inclusion-related one.

Strengthening and Expanding Data Science – 40 Researchers Publish Position Paper

Research with large datasets is becoming increasingly relevant across various academic disciplines. In a position paper, 40 researchers from 21 German and Austrian research institutes are calling for greater political and academic engagement in digital and data sciences.

The DSC Supports Research Stay in Oslo for Baffin Bay Model Development (BaffinDATA)

The research stay will provide the necessary datasets to support the development of a 3D numerical model for Baffin Bay (located between Greenland & Canada). The model will be used to provide insights into hydrocarbon distribution patterns that will be evaluated during an upcoming research cruise.
